Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some frequently asked questions all in one place to help and your dog prepare for their stay! We’ve compiled the most common inquiries to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for both of you. If you have any additional questions, feel free to reach out to us!

1. Do you accept unaltered dogs?

Yes, we do! However, we DO NOT allow dogs in heat to be boarded or in daycare. We will actively and continuously monitor their behavior to see if group play or one-on-one play would be a better fit for your dog. Behaviors that warrant removal from group play: excessive mounting, resource guarding, overly rough play, or failure to recall.

2. How long after a spay or neuter can my dog return to daycare/boarding/grooming?

We follow the veterinarian's advice and require your dog to rest for 14 days to ensure they are fully healed and their incisions remain clean.

3. What should I bring with my dog?

We recommend bringing the food your dog is currently eating at home to help prevent any upset stomachs during their stay. Feel free to include a blanket or shirt that carries the scent of home, but please avoid bringing your favorite or most expensive items, as they might be chewed on or misplaced during cleaning. There's no need to bring food or water bowls, including slow feeders, as we provide those for your convenience. We also ask if your dog is on any medications if you bring those in the original bottle prescribed by your vet, so that we may verify dosage.

4. What vaccines are required? And what age can my dog start daycare or boarding?

Per the state of North Dakota, dogs are required to be up to date on Rabies, Distemper, and Bordetella. Your dog must be 16 weeks of age in order to receive all of these completely. For puppies, they must have completed the 3-shot series of Distemper. After this series, it becomes an annual vaccine. The owner is responsible for bringing proof of these current vaccines. Dogs without proof of current vaccines will not be allowed to stay.

5. What if my dog doesn't like playing with other dogs?

We allow dogs that are unsure about group play to instead spend 1-on-1 time with our caregivers. They go outside in their own private yard and get to enjoy things like fetch, toys, puzzles, pools, and zooming around!  They go out at the same times as the other dogs and get lots of love and attention!

6. What is the 'Late Check Out Fee'?

This fee applies to dogs that are boarding. Boarding rates are charged per night that your dog is here, so if they are here past 1:00 pm on the day of checkout, there is a daycare fee added (similar to a late check out fee at a hotel for humans).

7. Can I be refunded for my daycare package?

Our daycare packages are offered at a discounted rate, and as such, we do not provide refunds. We appreciate your understanding and are committed to providing the best care for your dogs!

8. What are the cancellation fee policies?

Daycare reservations canceled within 24 hours of your start time will be charged 50% of the daycare price. You will be refunded on your boarding reservation deposit if you cancel at least 48 hours before your reservation starts. If less than 48 hours is given, you will forfeit the deposit.

9. Do you accept walk-ins for daycare, boarding, or grooming?

No, we require reservations for daycare, boarding, and grooming so that we can be adequately staffed and have room for your dog!

10. My dog eats food that needs to be refrigerated. Can I bring that?

Absolutely, we have fridges and freezers to keep those items cold. We just ask that you label those items with your dog's first and last name.

11. Can I bring my insulin-injection dependent dog?

Unfortunately, we do NOT give injections of any kind. We can only dispense oral, topical, or ocular medications.

12. Can I bring my dog if they are human reactive?

Unfortunately, we do not allow dogs that cannot be safely handled by all members of our staff. For the dog's safety, we must be able to enter their room, touch them, handle their belongings, and take them on/off a leash without growling, snapping, or biting.

13. Do you offer pick up/drop off outside of business hours?

Currently, we do not allow dogs to be dropped off or picked up after hours, as our staff are unavailable to attend to the front desk outside of these times.

14. Do I have to drop off at the time listed on my reservation?

No, you do not! Those times are just an estimate for us, your dog can come at a time most convenient for you as long as they fall within business hours.

15. How can I get in contact with the front desk?

Phone: 701-757-0101

Email: RedHydrantGf@gmail.com

Texting line: 844-813-6631

*Please note that Facebook Messenger and Snapchat messages are not the most reliable form of communication and can occasionally be missed.

16. Why are there no words on my dog's report card?

At our facility, dog safety is our top priority. While we strive to capture moments with photos, our caregivers are always actively monitoring the dogs. We only include notes on the report card if there are any health or behavioral notes to ensure clear communication with pet owners. Your dog's well-being is our utmost concern.

17. What time do the boarding baths get done?

These baths are done daily at 7 am unless otherwise arranged with the front desk staff at the time of DROP OFF.
